A Space to Grow and Chase Your Dreams
It started with this
airplane mobile from Restoration Hardware and the rest was history. I wanted to give August a room that was visually stimulating but yet still have clean lines. Most important... I wanted him to be able to grow with the room.
I took a while for this room to come together. I found everything from really different places and pieced it all together and I will try to share where I found the bigger pieces. I am SOO excited to share his room, and I can not wait to see his sweet little face in this room. Enough, enough finally here the room is!
Overview.
Left Side of the room. I found these
planked airplane panels a couple of weeks ago while browsing through a pottery barn magazine. I was a little worried it would be too grown up but I love how it tied everything together.
The bedding and curtains was all custom. I started with this
vintage airplane fabric from Restoration Hardware. You can't just order fabric from them so I literally ordered a duvet cover and we had to cut it up. I know, I know.... I am crazy. But I just had to have it! I found the other three fabrics at a local fabric warehouse and waa laa!

Right Side...... and don't even get me started on this photo display. I knew I wanted to put together a photo display on this wall, but I had such a hard time with this. I wanted again for this to have clean lines, but I didn't want it to be "matchy matchy". I literally went to Pottery Barn, bought a bunch of these
wood gallery frames, came home and started laying them all out on the floor. Walked by them for like three days and kept moving them around until I thought they were perfect. Yes, I drove my husband crazy with this. I think I even drove myself crazy! Then he had the fun part in hanging them and making sure they were perfect. :)
Blankie that Roman picked out for his little brother. I got the blankie, changing pad cover, and the red throw that is over the chair all at
pottery barn kids.
Love, love this plane! When the fan is on or when you open the closet it rotates. We suspended it from the ceiling using heavy duty fishing line so that it looks like it is flying. This is probably Roman's favorite part of the room.
Curtains again were custom..... I really had no choice though with this never ending ceiling. :) The brown bookcase I found at a antique store for like $50, and it is solid wood with absolutely no scratches. I was originally going to paint it, but when I got it in the room I loved how it warmed the room up being brown.
Globe from antique store, baskets from Target, and red metal plane from Hobby Lobby.
More details.
Globe and vintage books from a local antique store.
Again here was the inspiration for the entire room, the
airplane mobile. We also suspended this using fishing line to give it that flying effect.
We can't wait to meet you August!!! I hope this gives you a space to grow and chase your dreams.
