When Roman said he wanted to do a Superhero birthday party, the first thing I started doing was brainstorming on all the fun details. I start pinning away, getting inspiration, and putting together the basics for the party. I love planning my kids parties. I also love that is only once a year.... I could never be a planner full time. Trust me they are worth every penny!
A few days passed and I mentioned to my husband that Roman was talking about wanting a Supherhero party, and out of no where he was like, "I am going to dress up.... Batman, Robin, Superman, Spiderman, I don't know what but I want to surprise Roman." Ummm... come again? You are going to dress up? And do what?
I go on about my business ordering this, taking care of that, and I catch him searching on the internet one night for costumes. There were all these one hundred dollar Halloween costumes that were SO SO and my husband is the type that "he goes big or goes home." He was even debating ordering a REALLY expensive authitenic costume. I talked to him and brought him back down to reality and he again pushed the idea off to the side.
A week or so later, I catch him researching places that you can rent authentic costumes. I mean is he serious, but yes renting is an option. I am all about going out of my way for my child but does he really have the nerve to get dressed up in front of all of these parents and family??? But if it was something he wanted to do for Roman I told him to go for it. After trying on a million costumes, Batman it was. Batman made him look like he had abs.... and you know he has to look good right(another story) :)
I can't share any of the party details yet because they will be gracing the pages of one of my favorite magazines but what I can share is this little peek. August looks a little silly here but with young kids you get what you can.
One thing I do know for sure is that Batman or not, Jeremy you are a Superhero to Roman and August. Happy Tuesday!
